The remains of late Aishat Noble-Mustapha, the
Silverbird staff, murdered at her Ogudu Government
Reserved Area residence in Lagos two weeks ago, was
buried at Atan Cemetery, Lagos State, yesterday
amid tears..
Meanwhile, autopsy report has shown that the
deceased was not pregnant as widely reported.
Rather, the report showed that the 25-year-old lady
died from internal bleeding.
She was reportedly buried at the insistence of her
family, in spite of ongoing investigation into the
circumstance that led to her murder.
However, Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer,
Kenneth Nwosu, said the burial would not hamper
investigation.
He said: “Crime has no time limit. I want to say that
police is still investigating; some tests have been
conducted and autopsy done.
“But we cannot add to the family’s trauma; they
requested the burial and we allowed it.”
Spokesperson for the bereaved family and husband
of late Aishat’s aunt, Mr. Abubakar Haruna, urged the
police to unearth the circumstance surrounding her
death and bring the killer(s) to book.
At the burial, her colleagues from Silverbird and the
University of Lagos, where she was a student, wore
black t-shirt bearing her picture.
