Real Madrid sign Croatian star Kovacic

 Croatian international midfielder Mateo Kovacic has
joined Real Madrid from Inter Milan on a six-year
deal, the Spanish giants confirmed on Tuesday. “Real
Madrid and Inter Milan have agreed the transfer of
Mateo Kovacic, who will be tied to the club for the
next six seasons,” Madrid said in a statement.

 A 29-year-old housewife, Maryam Aliyu, has prayed a
Mararaba Grade 1 Area Court, to dissolve her 9-year-
old marriage to her husband, Abubakar Ja’afaru, for
lack of care. The marriage, contracted in 2006
according to the Islamic rites, has not produced any
issue.

Abusive parrot summoned, detained by police

 Indian police said on Tuesday in New Delhi that it had
summoned a parrot accused of hurling abuses at an
elderly woman.
Local Police Chief, P.S. Dongre, confirmed that the
parrot was summoned by the police after carrying
out a test to check whether the bird was guilty of bad
behaviour.

Youths can make their money by becoming vendors at weddings

 Two businesspersons on Monday urged youths in the
country to take advantage of available opportunities
and be proactive in choosing careers that could earn
them a living.
They gave the advice in interviews with newsmen in
Lagos. Adeshola Osipitan, the Chief Executive Officer,
Pookie Pearls and Fabrics, a fashion and
entertainment outfit, said youths could make a living
from weddings by providing services for weddings.

No ghost corps member in NYSC – DG

 ABUJA – The Director General of the National Youth
Service Corps (NYSC), Brig-Gen. Johnson Olawumi,
Sunday, debunked a medial report in one of the
national dailies that there were ghost corps
members, serving with the scheme.
Olawumi refuted the report during the 2015

Coup within Boko Haram’s ranks “plausible”

 Claims that Nigeria’s Boko Haram has been
“decapitated” have been spectacularly rebuffed by
the jihadists’ leader, yet his first broadcast in months
may not see off an impending mutiny, say analysts.
Abubakar Shekau released an eight-minute audio
recording on Sunday — his first since March —
denying claims by Chadian leader Idriss Deby that he
had been replaced, and dismissing the president as a
“hypocrite” and a “tyrant”.
